1. What is something not too many people know about me?
Well nobody really knows, or expects, that I didn't listen to any music before I was 18. My only exposure to it were my friend's rock playlists, my sisters' musical theater performances, or my dad's obscure African rhythm music. None of it really spoke to me, and since I was so young I didn't see the value in music. I heard nothing that I liked so I simply dismissed it. It wasn't until I heard Chance The Rapper's "Acid Rap" that something finally clicked in me, and ever since then I've been completely obsessed with music. I think I'm just trying to catch up after 18 years of musicless chillin'.
2. What are my biggest passions?
I think music is the obvious one, I love pushing genre boundaries and trying to make something entirely new. Creation in general is what I'm meant for. I love making weird pictures or videos and sharing them with people. Other than that, I'm super into language. I'll be studying linguistics in college as that's probably my greatest academic passion.
3. What are my goals for the future?
I've always told myself that I know I will have "made it" when I get up in the morning, make some breakfast and a nice mimosa. Then go outside to my balcony overlooking the beach, sippin' on some OJ and champagne. I think that vision is what keeps me at this, I want to have contributed something to humanity and at the same time be financially stable so I can spend the majority of my time thinking about things that actually matter. In the most basic sense, my goal is to be happy and to live life the right way.
4. What is my definition of success?
Naturally, I want to be able to support myself with all the creating I do. It's not cool now because I still need other jobs to keep me up. So success to me would be supporting myself with my music. I'm not necessarily after fame or fortune, but the idea of working for somebody else and doing something mundane is absolutely terrifying to me. I'd sooner move to Costa Rica and sell chickens, then work for some corporate dingus.
5. Tell you something about my projects.
I have a song coming out soon. It's definitely out of any genre, but it means a whole lot to me. The song will be about my best friend who passed when I was 16. I tried my best to communicate my thoughts through this song so I hope it's worthy. On a lighter note I'm also working with some pretty soulful vocalists, and there will be happier summerier songs soon to follow. I'd say if you like my style, then follow me on my socials. I love to share my work, with the hopes that I'll inspire one or two people along the way.
