1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I have a strong passion for fiction writing. Growing up, I always wanted to be a writer which was not the popular career choice amongst my age group. I have been writing short stories since I really could remember and wanted to release a novel by the 9thgrade. As silly as that may sound to some I actually started writing a fantasy novel in the 7th grade and I had high hopes of finishing it in two years! Sadly, the first 150 pages had gotten erased and being as young as I was I had no idea how to recover it. This has always been a backend dream of adolescent me, but I traded in the short stories for poems that eventually became songs.
2. What are your biggest passions?
Singing and dancing have always seemed to occupy my mind and my physical space. But I never looked at is as a passion until the last couple of years. Intrinsically I’m an introverted person, so I always pursued my dreams in private never thinking they could have the immense significance they have on me now. I have grown to be able to have the shared experience of being in this mindset of flow and pure awareness not only with myself but with other artists I’ve had the blessing to come across. I started off as a dancer divulging into hip-hop, contemporary and ballet. I love it still but it was never my strongest suit but that provoked the power in me to crave more freedom, and that gave me the courage to pursue my career as a singer which is where my passion truly burns.
3. What are your goals for the future?
In the near future, my goals are to go on tour for my EP and using my platform to be more involved in philanthropy, mainly supporting LGTBQ+ community, mental health awareness, women’s health/rights. I want to be hitting festival stages all summer long!
4. What is your definition of success?
My definition of success is being able to live comfortably, having my friends and family stable. To continue singing as a career and influence girls like me who struggle to understand and accept themselves. Success is fully loving myself, being the greatest me there is every day and making impacts no matter how small. Its leading with love always without question.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
I am currently working on my debut EP that has no name at the moment, it has been about two years in the making. Collaborating with different artist, producers and writers across the east and west coast, I have been gradually cultivating my sound, my own lane. I’m due to release two singles before the summer ends! This project has a theme of self-discovery, introspection on destructive behaviors and past loves/ situations I couldn’t wrap my head around. A message from the self to the self that I feel people are able to project themselves onto. Other than my own personal project, I’m featured on TR3’s single “home” that was just released on all platforms for his project “Rome wasn’t". The music video is to be released within the next couple of weeks which I am really excited about.
