1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Mostly people don’t know where I come from and what I made out of it. I almost turned everything in my life into the opposite.
I was so terrible at school until grade 5, that they thought about sending me to a school for special needs. The only thing I was good at was drama and arts. From grade 6 I all of a sudden had the best marks without even studying so much.
I was being mobbed for being ‘fat’ (which in reality was slightly chubby), ugly or for being brown, for having a strange accent or having boobs way too early. Back then I started suffering from heavy panic attacks and suicidal thoughts, I was quiet, shy and just a different person.
I moved out from home when I was 16 years old, lived with hardly any money and sometimes didn’t even know how to afford my groceries, I still finished my school and studies and became one of the youngest branch leaders of a bank at the age of 22. I did that for 5 years, until I realized I have never lived my life. I sold my car, my furniture, quit my job and went off to Australia to live in the deepest Jungle for 18 months, without public water, electricity, phone signal or TV.
2. What are your biggest passions?
I live for acting and Acro Yoga, which is some sort of acrobatics. Funnily I love both for the same reasons: you have to know, to feel and to recognize people around you, but more than that you have to know yourself, your good traits, demons, strengths and weaknesses. Your reactions and the reasons behind them. Getting to know yourself and others in this way, is a deep psychological, healing process and highly recommendable.
3. What are your goals for the future?
The superficial one: I wanna make myself a name as an actress. Some little movies and roles are coming in, but I wanna reach higher than that. I wanna make my passion a profession!
The deeper reason behind it: except for my own happiness, I would be more known in this world. This would give me the voice to tell my story and encourage young people to take their lives and paths into their own hands.
4. What is your definition of success?
Success for me has nothing to do with the amount of money I earn or the fame and fortune I have reached. Success is, when I can say I regret nothing and I am happy, I am full and I don’t feel a lack of anything. I am fulfilled with what I do. Even if it was ‘only’ being a house keeper. We all are on this planet for different purposes though, and when I feel that I have done what I am here for, then I was successful in life.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
Currently I am working on a new short movie in which I am the main actress. More Info would be a spoiler, to be continued…
Also, I am organizing a Yoga retreat (I am a Yoga teacher) in India which I will be leading in September this year. Loads of work, but it keeps me off the streets ;)
