1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I got into photography by accident during my freshman year in college. It was the year when I struggled to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and started exploring many different possibilities. One of the options that I have strongly considered during that time period was to become an architect. Being surrounded by the world's best looking skyscrapers was just the beginning of my journey, and capturing that beauty was one of the steps. And while I have not become an architect, I did spend the next 12 years shooting landscapes all over the world. My portrait work is fairly recent by comparison, as I made the shift from landscape work only a year ago.
2. What are your biggest passions?
One of my biggest passions, besides photography, is travel. I love how the two passions synergize one another. It helps me discover new places and see them from a different perspective, because I'm always on a look out for a different angle to capture my shot.
3. What are your goals for the future?
This is an extension of the previous question, and one of my goals is to travel to all the continents. My ultimate travel destination, however, is Socotra island.
4. What is your definition of success?
I measure success differently depending on a task. Sometimes, it can be as simple as making someone smile.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
My most recent project involved working with a local brewery; this was the first time I did a commercial shoot of this type. It was a unique experience exploring the brewery and following the process of making the beer from start to finish, and capturing that process with still photography. It was a great learning experience, one that I will remember for a long time.
