1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I wanted to go into the hair & makeup industry for YEARS! I begged my parents to let me to go Cosmetology school (at the time Riverside Community College school was the best in California) but my mother was not about it. She insisted that I get a "career" where I wasn't standing on my feet all day... little did she know that I would end up an Event & Wedding planner where I'm running around on my feet all day.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
Event planning. I know it's my "job" but to me it's more than a job, it's my passion. I'm obsessed with what I do. To see someones idea go from the beginning stages through fruition is incredible. It's so rewarding seeing them to stoked on this one thing & knowing that I helped in any way possible just makes my life and my job so fulfilling. Weddings especially, seeing that glowing bride and the crying husband at the top of the aisle, gets me every time! I also love being outside with my family and friends, cooking/BBQ'ing and enjoying being in Southern California!
3. What are your goals for the future?
To take over the world... no I'm just kidding (or am I?!) but in all seriousness I'd love to own my own events planning business. I have 7 year in the industry and with each and every event, no matter how big or small, I learn something new. I've worked the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in NYC and I've worked small children's reading circles; countless weddings and events here at Equinox Sports Club Orange County and I take away something from each and every event!
4. What is your definition of success?
Learning from the missed opportunities and taking that knowledge to better yourself and your events in the future. It's not a lesson if you didn't learn something. Also if my members/guests/clients are enjoying themselves and talking about the event, I know I've done my job.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
I can't because its top secret... no but in all honesty my Director of Events and I are working to take events to every Equinox club in our portfolio. We're working on creating a community within our clubs and our members to really cultivate this luxury lifestyle brand that is Equinox and make it the happening place to be.
