1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Something that not a lot of people know about me is that I am a very dedicated dancer! I am most known online for my Photography presence, but i’ve been doing almost all styles of dance since I was three years old. My favorite style since I was young has always been Modern. I will be attending the UMKC Conservatory of Dance in the fall of this year to pursue my Ballet and Modern Dance career. I am also on the national champion UMKC Roo Dance Team. I have even received scholarships from both the Conservatory and the Dance Team based on my dancing ability, which will help me get even closer to fully achieving my goals for the future.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
My biggest passions are definitely Photography and Dance. I have been a dancer longer than I have been a photographer, but they both have become something that I can’t live without. I dance 10 hours a week, so it takes up a lot of my time. When i'm not dancing, that’s the time that I reserve for my photography sessions. When i’m not taking photos or dancing, I am most likely spending time with my friends and family. I really value quality time with the people that support me the most.
3. What are your goals for the future?
I have many goals for the future that I work extremely hard to try to achieve. I hope to eventually be living in a big city, ideally New York. I like New York because there are lots of opportunities there for both my Dance and Photography careers. For Photography, my goal is to be a photographer for a high end magazine such as Vogue or Vanity Fair. For my dancing career, I would love to dance for a company such as the Martha Graham Company or the Alvin Ailey Company.
I have an aspiration for traveling the world. If I could work while traveling, that would be completely ideal. I would hate to live a life where I don’t get to see the most beautiful parts of Earth.
4. What is your definition of success?
My definition of success is knowing that you are stable financially, mentally, and physically. Of course, my talents do not come with the best financial income. But, as long as you are hard working and dedicated to what you do, you can always find a way to make revenue appear. Being a dancer, mental and physical health is extremely important. Knowing that you are healthy and stable in both of those aspects will only make your life easier. I feel like one would know that they are successful once they are living life with a positive attitude and doing what they love everyday with no setbacks.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
A current project that I am working on is expanding my boudoir photography portfolio; I have never shot boudoir. I will be working with makeup artists, hair stylists, lingerie companies, and a professional studio to create a stunning boudoir portfolio for not just myself, but all of the artists involved.
