1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I don’t think too many people know that I am fascinated with forensic science and true crime. Forensic Files is one of my favorite TV shows. If I had cable I would watch that and Cops exclusively. Not sure if many people know that I play video games either.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
Music is the first thing that popped into my head. Whether it is playing it, singing to it, or just listening, it has always been a fixture in my life. I love old country, blues, soul, and folk music. I obsess over one group or artist and dig as deeply as I can to find my favorite versions of recordings. With any super old music, I love to trace back recordings to their origins because the history behind a song can be so bizarre and interesting. One of my favorite tunes “Wildwood Flower” was written in 1860. The lyrics evolved based on how each performer heard them, which resulted in the lyrics making less sense as time went by. The Carter Family version recorded in 1928 is my favorite.
I love singing, I get stage fright like nobody’s business but I’m working on that! I play banjo and guitar. Banjo is my key instrument. Playing it is a feeling I can only describe as being home.
Collecting, curating, and wearing vintage clothing is a newer hobby of mine. I love Edwardian and Prairie era pieces. I have amassed a collection that nearly surpasses my available closet space.
I’m currently a theatre major with aspirations to become an actress (despite my stage fright).
Another hobby is video games. I grew up playing JRPGs like Dragon Quest and Dark Cloud. Right now I can’t put down Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
3. What are your goals for the future?
I try to live in the moment as much as possible. Long-term goals are to complete school, earn an apprenticeship with a local theatre, become confident in photography and modeling, and to establish myself musically by recording my own songs. Also to get buff.
4. What is your definition of success?
Success is relative to the person. To me, it means being happy, comfortable, and secure with whatever my current situation might be. Life can change in an instant, but with the right attitude, happiness can be maintained.
I also want to buy my mom a house and have her not work so hard all the time.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
I’m currently working on a theatre production for my college, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I play Cobweb, one of the fairies.
I’m also working on a concept for a short film I will be directing/writing/probably starring in.
I always have conceptual photoshoots in the works as well. Doing authentic feeling vintage styled shoots are my favorite types of shoots to model for.
