1. What is something not too many people know about you?
The reality is that it’s the opposite, many people don’t know a thing about me and only a few know the keynotes of my life. That might be going in a little too deep. Easy answer is that now a days I also started doing stand up comedy. Come out to see a set and you’ll get to know me better then I know myself.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
My biggest passion is open forum conversations to not only get to know other people but, to also have a better general understanding of how they think. Most importantly why they think the way they do. I hate the phrase judge a book by its cover because essentially that’s how we all used to pick out books before the internet no? Some of us (me), still go to Barnes and noble and just look around at covers and then read the synopsis and go from there. Same deal when you meet a person. I’m an open book looking to expand my story with yours or viceversa. Point is if you ever talk to me, get ready to really talk to me or just don’t talk at all. In the world we live in, people consider it weird for another person to show genuine interest and that’s all I ever show.
3. What are your goals for the future?
The goal is to continue to transition into a better artist in general by making myself vulnerable to it all. Back in the day DaVinci could only express what he saw and his experiences through his eyes, give or take whatever books were around to inspire him. Now a days everyone has their best life on display and a few actually put out the worst too for you to see. It’s all out there just waiting to be sucked up with a sponge and if I could just figure out a way to create something where we all see where it’s coming from and understand it together. That’s art. Universal art is the goal. Through any artistic medium, that would be the ultimate goal. Universal art.
4. What is your definition of success?
Success would be living comfortably while having art pay for how I live. There would be no 9-5 to support the art or to make sure I can eat every day. Having the hobbies and the passions turn lucrative to the point of, ok, this is all I have to do now.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
I am currently focused on writing stories. Some funny, some serious, but all of which stemming from someone’s truth. I used to do too much with little meaning so I’m turning it around and doing less but only the stuff that would mean a lot to me and hopefully to those who actually pay attention. I’m always working with my wife on her blog and setting up creative ways to portray fashion and a general lifestyle. I also think it’s important to keep the hyper reality aspect of art alive and kicking in what I do just because that is how we want to see life. I think we all share one big project. The living my best life project. Figuring all this shit out, that’s the next project lol.
