1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Something that most people don’t know about me is how important day dreaming is to me. Since I was a little girl I have always set aside time to day dream. I mostly love to do it at the park, on the swing set if I can. Wherever it happens, I’ve always found it to be necessary and now that I am older I find it to be really important to how I function creatively in the world. By giving my mind the freedom to travel wherever it wants to, I find my mind works better when I need it to. It is like the equivalent of free play for the body.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
Photography is by far my biggest passion. It is where my creative energy flows the strongest and most frequent. However, I also have begun a new adventure as a hair stylist, hair and makeup have also been an interest and hobby. Outside of work type hobbies, I love to cook and I am just beginning to learn how to sew. As I grow older I am finding working with my hands to be more and more satisfying.
3. What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future is to open a personal studio where I can style hair and practice my photography.
4. What is your definition of success?
While I realize creative freedom is going to be hard to come by, there will always be clients with wants and needs. I still think freedom is how I define success, the ability to work for myself and decide my own time schedule while also having the ability to produce creatively-satisfying work is the dream.
5. Tell us something about the projects you’re working on.
Right now I have been working hard to collaborate with stylist and makeup artist to build my portfolio. This summer my goal is to work on more personal work, more journalistic work to be specific.
