1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I'm huge music nerd. I'm really into The Cure (Robert Smith is a lyrical genius, huge inspiration) Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Rodriguez (another huge inspiration), Bill Withers, Corrine Bailey Rae, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin. The list honestly goes on and on. I grew up listening to a lot of the music my Dad was into and actually, a lot of it has inspired some songs on my upcoming EP.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
I'm very passionate about veganism and healthy living. It's important to me that I'm feeling like my best self. I also enjoy meditation as well. I can find it difficult to focus on being creative some times because there's so much distraction on social media, I find meditation helps me keep a clear mind.
3. What are your goals for the future?
Traveling around and performing my own music. Creating the life I want to live.
4. What is your definition of success?
If you can feel completely happy with your life and where you are, that's success.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
I'm currently working on my upcoming EP with an amazing singer/songwriter/producer from the UK, Kyan (@KyanMusic on instagram) who has just produced an album for another Toronto native, K'naan! The whole process was a really cool experience. We rented out an airbnb in Toronto to use as a studio, working late every night on the songs. I've always played guitar, sang, and written acoustic songs, but working with Kyan has allowed me to expand my music to a different instrumentation that still compliments the core of who I am. We have a few songs left to finish, which will be done at Metalworks Studios and I'm really excited! This whole project is one I'm so proud of and very excited to share. It's been amazing to create the music I've always had in my head!
