1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Most of my close family and friends don’t know that I prefer the darker side of art. My personality comes off as very light and jovial, so most people assume I am a very peppy, cheerful person. However, my philosophy is that the light in the world looks so much brighter when contrasted with a greater darkness. By experiencing art with darker themes, black and white photos, even fantasy photoshoots with characters like vampires or demons, really pop next to some of the lighter, pastel images that make up the majority of my work. The darker the work, the deeper the message; and me being a deep thinker, I adore when art has a greater purpose or meaning.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
Well, my favorite hobby right now is modeling! I started modeling in early February and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I’m working with a whole bunch of local photographers just trying to get my name out there and have really enjoyed being a part of the community. One of my greatest passions, which goes hand in hand with modeling, is cosmetology. I will be graduating in May with my cosmetology license and have been focusing on hair and makeup while I’ve been in school. My favorite part of doing hair and makeup is giving other people the confidence I never had. Giving people the means to express themselves and to be comfortable in their own skin by enhancing the beauty that is already in them is what I live for. By showing people their true colors and bringing out the best in them, it inspires them to be their best self and that is what makes life worth living!
3. What are your goals for the future?
As of right now, my future is open to a multitude of possibilities. I want to expand my modeling and cosmetology and get published someday. I also want to travel and see the world so that I can open my mind to everything that the world has to offer. I don’t have a lot of specifics right now, but my mind is open to anything.
4. What is your definition of success?
Success is one of those things that I really think has a different definition for everyone. For me personally, success is creating your own happiness and being true to yourself. Success is being present, enjoying the life you’ve been given and following your dreams. It kind of sounds cliché, but it’s so true. I used to live my life according to others' expectations of me. I would only do what I was told, and didn’t take any risks in life. Now that I am older and wiser, celebrating the day to day simplicities has been my secret to success. I don’t want to live a life of regret, but rather one of adventure and love. When you enjoy what you do, every day is a success because you’re following your heart!
5. Tell us something about the projects you’re working on.
As previously stated, I’m pretty new to the whole artist’s gig. I’m just trying to get my name out there and enjoy the ride wherever it takes me! Mostly, I’m just trying to work on myself and my career to set up a good foundation for whatever may come my way. I am always looking to be apart of new and unique projects and truly honing in on what my style really looks like. There is something new to learn every day!
