1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Being a fashion student and having such a small build, I guess not many people would have expected that I joined the National Cadet Corps for 4 years and I even participated in a shooting competition. I get the funniest reaction whenever I tell that to someone new. Having that as my after school activity was actually really tough but I’m glad I did it as it helped with my mental strength and shaped my character.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
My passions and hobbies have always had something to do with art. I started with visual art in secondary school before moving on to getting both a diploma and a degree in fashion. Currently, I’ve been working a lot with digital art and beauty. There’s always so much more to an art piece than just the final work. There’s always things like the inspiration and the creative process that goes into creating art, which is why I’m drawn to it. I am also very passionate about developing a lifestyle that has a more positive impact on our ecosystem. I’m currently switching to using cruelty free beauty products and cutting down on my plastic usage. It’s certainly a journey so I’m taking one step at a time.
3. What are your goals for the future?
I’m graduating soon so my main goal is to land myself a career that provides me with enough freedom to create and to be able to share my values with others.
4. What is your definition of success?
I think being able to be proud and happy with whatever it is you’re doing is a success and a blessing to me. There’s always a lot more that goes on besides what we’re choosing to show others so I don’t think our success needs to be validated by others but by ourselves.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
I’m currently working on my final year project for my degree in fashion media and industries. I’m developing a business proposal that changes the way people perceived ethical beauty and provide easier opportunities for people to be more conscious. For this project, I have to develop business strategies, design the products, website, store and many more. Apart from school, I freelance in modelling and content creation for a local brand.
