1. What is something not too many people know about you?
The meaning of YEN. It’s actually my name. Yenifer was the name my mother gave me at birth, but shortly after my father changed my name to Jennifer. I later realized how common the name Jennifer became. It didn’t fit me. I remember sitting in my bedroom thinking to myself how I could create a new name for myself that fits me and my personality. It clicked to me. YEN. The capitalized letters in my name mean respect. The name Yen itself came from my original name Yenifer which stands for originality. Yen is also the currency in Japan which plays a huge role and inspiration in my style. For it, being a currency stands for indepence, growth and wealth. The 3 letters in my name stand for simplicity, but also have a meaning of being powerful like the stories I tell behind my art.
