1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Something not too many people know about me is that I am a "trained extrovert". Growing up, I was painfully shy and to this day my resting disposition is to be quiet and introverted. Somehow I have managed to adopt all hobbies/occupations that involve constantly collaborating and interacting with others so through working at a corporate firm and especially in starting/maintaining my own business, I have had to learn how to be extroverted. It's actually a lot of effort at times, but I like to think that I cover it well (hence why this is something not too many people know about me).
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
My biggest passions/hobbies lie in most all aspects of design. I went to school for architecture so I have been working at a small firm in Northwest Arkansas for about two years now, which is enjoyable and allows me to feel like a part of the "Great American Workforce". My photography business began back in 2015 and has grown from side hustle to a full-grown bear. While I love photography and the experiences I have collected over the years, it has slowly lost its grandeur and I have stepped back a bit in order to focus on new and exciting hobbies which include things like painting and event design. Another thing about me is that I can't focus on one thing for too long. I am always looking for that next 'passion'.
3. What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future are to someday grow my photography business and/or passion projects to a point where I can work for myself and as an independent.
4. What is your definition of success?
My definition of success lies in how I feel at the end of the day and what my relationship with others looks like. Success, for me, isn't measured by how much money you have in the bank account, how many projects I have planned for the year, but rather stepping back and asking myself "am I happy? Am I fulfilled? Have I impacted someone in a positive way?" If the answer to all of this is 'yes', then I consider this success. I am first and foremost a relational person so keeping that a top priority is key.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
What projects am I not working on?? My 8-5 job is working at an architecture firm which allows me to flex my design muscles in the built environment, my "side hustle" is my photography business, and whatever time I have left over is put towards painting and small event planning. My current "passion projects" are actually creating a lineup of large-scale abstract paintings and also flexing my event design muscles by piecing together a local show or gala to raise awareness or funds for something like Alzheimers Research (an endeavor near and dear to my heart).
