1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Something not too many people know about me is that I am a philosopher! Since I was young, I have always tended to live by my own rules. I am this way because I have formed my own belief system based on my observations of those around me, & their belief systems. I noticed that many people would hide behind their religions, educations, & sports. I never wanted to be someone who hid. I've always been open about the things that go through my head, the things I've struggled with, & what I've done to heal myself. I believe that authenticity & vulnerability are the most important steps in the journey to loving yourself & letting those around you love you as well.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
My biggest passions & hobbies are: Music. I sing, I play piano & ukulele & some mediocre guitar, but I'm working on it. I also write songs. This is one of my favorite ways to express myself. Next is dance. Dancing makes me feel so alive, so connected with my body & to the music. I attend dance classes weekly. I like hip hop, house dance (shuffling), contemporary, & I recently started taking break dancing classes! I like to try new styles, so that I can dance to any style of music. One of my favorite things to do is go to raves, music festivals, concerts, or parties where the music is good & loud & the people are dancing. I'm always the one who dances all night long & leaves soaked in sweat! Another passion of mine is anything involving nature. I love the wild. I go hiking, camping, & backpacking as much as I can find time for. I love outdoor sports like snowboarding, kayaking, & rock climbing. I love the smell of campfires & the sound of the forest as I'm falling asleep. There's no better way to escape than to spend a few days with mother nature.
3. What are your goals for the future?
I have many goals for the future. One of them is to start a YouTube channel & start vlogging about my hobbies & adventures. I believe I have a lot of interesting things to say & do that would engage a lot of people. I have struggled in the past with mental illness & I want to use social media to connect to others who may have gone through the same things as me & offer any guidance or advice I can. I'm in my first year of school as a psychology major. I hope one day to incorporate my various passions into my career in order to help others. My other main goal is to be completely self-sufficient & independent. I still live at home with my parents, so I don't have too much financial responsibility at the moment. One day I'd like to own my own house & my own car, & take care of business like a boss!
4. What is your definition of success?
My definition of success is achieving what you've worked for. Whether it is a small success like cooking a delicious meal, or a big success like landing your dream job, we can all succeed in anything that we set our minds to. Success doesn't necessarily mean wealth, fame, or glamour. Success is the outcome of hard work & dedication. If you work hard for something & don't give up, you will always succeed if you are doing something you love. If you are working hard for money & nothing else, there is no success to be had there.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
Currently, like I said before, I'm a student working toward a degree in Psychology. I will soon be working with a creative director to help me build a website for my modelling career. I am in the process of professionalizing myself. In the past, due to lack of confidence, I never felt like it was worthwhile to take the time to build a website & set rates & hire a manager, but after a year & a half of freelance modelling, I've realized this is something I am good at & something I enjoy. I am also saving up to build a photo & audio studio in my bedroom for photoshoots, videos, & music to be made.
