Culture Shock! Sorry, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. We contacted the devilishly stylish David Calderon for his take on what to look for during our next trip. He’s the perfect person for this type of inquiry for three reasons:
1. He’s built an entire page based on how he drifts from one location to another.
2. One look at his pictures makes you want to instantly hop onto a plane.
3. You know when you’re in a foreign country and you have to approach someone for information, but you don’t want to disturb them, and you hope to Almighty God that they’re chill about it? That’s David. He doesn’t mind taking time out of his day to tell you everything you need to know about how to enhance your travels.
Originally hailing from LA, David made the excursion to London where he now dresses up in outfits that puts those of us remaining in SoCal to shame. His latent inspiration for fashion was unlocked just by seeing people walk around when he got to the U.K. Once it was fully developed, he began blogging about style and travel tips.
David appreciates the wonder of other cultures and loves delving into experiences that differentiate themselves from the norm hence the Culture Shock! He’s of the belief that people should travel to places that take them out of the monotony of daily life. His recommendation: look for a place that clashes with your comfort zone and serves food that you usually wouldn’t consider eating. You’ll come back home humble, filled with knowledge and an overwhelming sense of appreciation.
David has a multitude of projects on the rise. He and his business partner @Timstide just launched Social Tide, a social media creative marketing agency. They’re also in talks about expanding their blog and brand so if there was ever a time that you were going to start riding the DriftingDCal wave, it’s now.
