1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I have two metal rods in my spine. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 12 years old, and had a spinal fusion from vertebrae T1-L3 at age 18. When I was younger, the only person I knew that had this surgery was my grandmother. In the last couple years, I’ve tried to be a resource for others who are going through the same diagnosis and surgery. Adolescence is difficult enough, without having to deal with a spinal deformity. I try my best to make myself accessible to anyone who is dealing with scoliosis/spinal fusion and who may need someone to talk to.
2. What are your biggest passions?
Painting, modeling, acting, and interior design. I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. I signed to my first modeling agency when I was 11 years old. Growing up, I was constantly redesigning my bedroom, and I still do the same thing to this day. The aesthetic in my house is always evolving into something new. I’ve always been a very creative person, so I try to set aside time to do something creative every day; even if it’s sketching for 20 minutes after work to unwind.
3. What are your goals for the future?
I strive to continually grow and develop my crafts. I would like to get my artwork in galleries around Orlando. I’m also always trying to make more room in my studio to create more. With a full time work schedule, I have to be fairly selective when taking on new projects. As I get older, balancing my interests and passions has taught me the value of my time. I really enjoy getting to collaborate with other artists and continuing my growth as a model, actor and painter.
4. What is your definition of success?
Waking up and doing what I love, every single day. Living off of my creations. To paint for a living would be an absolute dream.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're working on.
I’m always developing my artwork, changing my style, and trying experimenting with new artistic ideas. I make these 3D pieces, that are somewhere between a painting and a sculpture. Currently I’m working on one that is on a 48”x48” canvas and weighs over 15lbs. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
The most recent project I was apart of was a short film titled “Allegory”, which will be out at the end of this month.
