1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Honestly, I am a pretty open book. When I love something, I pretty much tell everyone about it. That said, I think people may be surprised to find out how obsessed I am with history and biographies. I am simply fascinated by the building blocks that shaped the world in which I live. What made the great men of the past tick. Why were they successful? What did they do when they failed? That kind of thing. So enlightening.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
I am a movie fanatic. I love film because it transports me to worlds I could never go in real life. The power of story is unmatched. It changes life trajectories. Beyond that, coffee, travel, music, photography, Jesus, and my wife and 7 kids are my biggest passions and hobbies.
3. What are your goals for the future?
I know it sounds a little crazy, but I want to tour the world with my family in an RV and take photos of everything. I want to play music in every town we visit, build memories, and experience things that most people will never get to for one reason or another. I just don’t want my kids being sucked into the American dream and never really living. I wanna show them a better way by teaching them to stand in awe of creation and the God who made it all.
4. What is your definition of success?
Success has looked different for me in different seasons. I used to be obsessed with what people thought of me. Now I think it’s just being faithful with what I have, doing what I love, and providing for my family while I do it. It’s simpler this way, and I find myself a lot less consumed with comparison and all kinds of other joy-killers.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
I’m trying to take a portrait a day this year. Just exploring and showcasing the dignity and beauty of humanity. In addition to that, I’m actually working on a new album and writing a new book. So it’s a bit of a full year, but I’m really excited for what lies ahead.
