1. What is something not too many people know about you?
I live for excitement and the little things in life. I love organizing birthdays and finding a new recipe or a new song. There's nothing like making a surprise for a friend by doing something I know they will love. That is what drives me in life and makes everyday a little bit more fun for me. Excitement. I find it a little funny that also a cup of good old coffee in the morning can get me almost as excited and anything else in life.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
My health and wellbeing have always been one of my biggest passions. Both to feel good, look good and be able to perform as good as possible in life. There is so much my body is capable of and I'm thankful for all of that! Another reason my health is so vital and plays such an important roll for me is that I struggled with bad skin in my early 20s, caused by a hormonal imbalance. I have always been trying to heal my body with food, supplements and exercise. Now that I finally have my skin under control, there is nothing I enjoy more than cooking food that my body will get fuel from and make me glow. Since I'm currently in California, I also have time to visit Corepower Yoga and do some Hot Yoga. I try to go there to get myself grounded and it just feels so damn good. Besides that, I’ve done some surfing on the weekends here in Santa Barbara. I think surfing is my newest passion. I worked 6 months at an amazing surf retreat in Southern Sri Lanka called Sunshinestories. This is where I’ve learned to develop my skills, and where I got to surf everyday. It's truly addictive!
3. What are your goals for the future?
This year, some of my personal goals are to grow as much as possible and to keep exploring who I am in this world and what my strengths and weaknesses are. I do that best by traveling, exploring new countries and cultures, and being kind to everyone I meet. Declutter and live with less. I also want to keep growing my site freidarue.com, where I write about travel, health and beauty. If I can dream big, I would love to make a book with all the knowledge I have about health, skin, food and the connection between it. But this might be a project for next year!
4. What is your definition of success?
Success for me is to live a life with intention and purpose. I want to feel like my choices and decisions make me better. I want them to create a life that turns me into the best person I can be and allows me to change, love and feel without being scared. For me, it’s about feeling a sense of purpose and connection with myself and the people around me.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
My next trip will be to to Lofoten in the very north of Norway. Both for some holiday and hopefully skiing and maybe some surfing if I am brave enough. I hope to see the northern lights, stand on top of a couple of mountains and spend a lot of time having breakfast in bed.
