1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Something that a lot of people don't know about me is I'm very reclusive. I get my energy from being by myself. I can be around others for a couple hours, but I start to drift off after awhile and wish to be alone wanting to be with my own thoughts and ideas. I'm more drawn to privacy and keeping to myself.
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
Some of my biggest passions and hobbies are of course makeup, music, dance, and fashion. At a young age I knew I've always wanted to do something artistic with my life and I was intrigued by dancing. I started dancing mostly jazz when I was 3 and continued on until I was 16 with jazz, modern, contemporary, pointe, ballet, and hip hop. Through that period of time I was a dancer, we had to do our makeup for stage performances and I drilled in my mind I needed to have the best music the best makeup and the best costume. I practiced makeup any time that I wasn't busy, and that therefore evolved into my love for makeup. Music has also always been a huge part of my life. My parents would never hesitate to play Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Wham!, and others like Green Day, Steely Dan, Frankie Vallie, or Rage Against the Machine growing up, so I've consistently have had a taste for older music. Music inspires most of what I create today.
3. What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future are to work as a makeup artist or collaborate with brands in the fashion industry as a runway makeup artist. I'd also wish so much to be on a page of Nylon, or Nylon Japan since they have been a huge inspiration of mine. A dream will only inspire you to go so far. You have to push yourself to make it reality. Hopefully though, throughout the years I will be opened up to plenty of opportunities, big or little, to expand my horizon and help introduce me to new ideas and people. I wish to also help others along the way and to create a better, more positive environment for the influencer movement of young artist and individuals.
4. What is your definition of success?
My definition of success is being happy and at peace with yourself and others around you. Fame and fortune are romanticized in my opinion. Having your name out there and having money is a perk but when you're finally happy with who you are and your work and you have like-minded friends or family around you who support you, that's the best feeling. That is winning in my opinion. In a working industry, success will come to you when you constantly prove you are working to your best potential and creating your best art you put out.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
I'm so ecstatic about upcoming projects for me. An older girl I met through a design magazine, Jennifer Espinoza, or formally known as YEN (ig: espinoza_jennifer), has been a huge mentor for me. She's helped me so much in the industry and I want to thank her the world for that, and having my name put out there. I am in the process of collaborating with her for a creative shoot and runway, which I will be doing the makeup for. I'm also trying to start making short films or videos, with a close friend of mine, over the perspective of makeup and the editorial fundamentals, since I don't think videos quite portray it correctly. I also want to collaborate with a costumer designer/artist I recently met and adore. We will see what 2018 has in store for me.
